Educate a Girl / Change a Life / Break the Cycle

성주재단은 어려운 환경 때문에 잠재력을 충분히 발휘하기 힘든 여학생들을 대상으로, 그들이 자신의 능력을 발휘하여 공동체와 국가의 지속 가능한 발전에 기여할 수 있는 창의적 글로벌 리더로 성장할 수 있도록 돕습니다. 

재단은 어려운 환경에 있는 학생들의 미래를 바꾸고 삶을 개선할 수 있는 강력한 도구는 교육이라는 믿음으로, 영국 런던에 위치한 비영리단체 PAWA(Pan Asian Women's Association)를 지원하고 있습니다.  PAWA는 취약한 아시아 각 나라 (파키스탄, 캄보디아, 방글라데시, 인도네시아 등) 현지에 거주하는 취약계층 여성 청소년들의 교육을 지원하는 단체 입니다.  성주재단의 후원으로 조성된 장학금은 PAWA 프로젝트 "Underprivileged Teenage Girls’ Education in Asia" 에 소중하게 사용됩니다.

Who is PAWA? 

Founded in 2009 by Sung-joo Kim, PAWA is a UK registered charity and is professionally managed by a dedicated group of trustees and volunteers. PAWA focuses on a single purpose - to support underprivileged teenage girls’ education in Asia. PAWA brings together individuals and organisations to raise funds and benefits small grassroots projects that empower women through education. PAWA’s supporters are women and men of diverse backgrounds who have links or interests in Asia. Members of the PAWA Management Committee and Projects Committee use their in-depth knowledge of Asia to identify and vet charities and projects to support. 

2019 marks the 10th anniversary of PAWA’s efforts to support underprivileged teenage girls’ education in Asia. This anniversary is not only an important milestone for PAWA and also an opportunity to widen its reach. More donations will enable PAWA to further promote gender equality, help more girls get quality education, end poverty, and fight hunger. More lives will change for the better.
